HAITI – RECONSTRUCTING THE CITY

Role: Editor

How can urban design practices be incorporated into the work of aid agencies working towards the reconstruction of urban areas in the recovery phase of a humanitarian response? This short video, filmed in Haiti, is part of a bigger research project that aims to answer that question. Entitled ‘(Re)constructing the city: integrating urban design into humanitarian response’ it is being carried out by Killing Architects in collaboration with Dr Kate Crawford, and with Dr Camillo Boano of the Development Planning Unit at University College London. It has been funded by an award from the Royal Institute of British Architects Research Trust.
